Safer Gambling
Wins Pulse wants gambling to stay what it should be: entertainment with a budget attached. Casino games are designed so that the house wins over time, and no bonus, strategy or streak changes that. This page explains the tools every licensed UK casino must offer, where to get free confidential help, and how to shut gambling out altogether if you need to.
Practical tools at every UK casino
Deposit limits
Since October 2025 every casino licensed in Great Britain must ask you to set a deposit limit before your first deposit. Choose a daily, weekly or monthly figure you would be comfortable losing. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately; raising one is delayed by at least 24 hours so the decision is not made in the heat of a session.
Time limits and reality checks
Session reminders pop up at an interval you choose and show how long you have played and how much you have won or lost. Use them. Many sites also let you cap the number of hours you can play per day.
Cool-off periods (time-outs)
A time-out locks your account for anything from 24 hours to six weeks. It is the right tool when you notice you are chasing losses or playing to change your mood.
Loss and profit overview
Every licensed casino must show a clear history of your deposits, withdrawals and net position. Check it monthly, and be honest with yourself about the number you see.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion closes your account for a minimum of six months and stops the operator marketing to you. It is available in the account settings of every site we list.
GAMSTOP — self-exclude from every UK site at once
GAMSTOP is the free national self-exclusion scheme. Register once, choose six months, one year or five years, and every online gambling company licensed in Great Britain must block you for that period. You cannot cancel it early. Registration takes a few minutes and needs your name, date of birth, address and email.
Blocking software and bank blocks
Gamban blocks gambling websites and apps on your phone, tablet and computer, and is free for UK residents through the TalkBanStop partnership between GamCare, GAMSTOP and Gamban. Most UK banks — including Monzo, Starling, Barclays, Lloyds, NatWest, HSBC and Santander — offer a gambling block on debit cards that you can switch on in the banking app, usually with a cooling-off period before it can be removed.

Ask yourself
- Am I spending more than I can afford to lose?
- Do I go back to win money I lost earlier?
- Have I borrowed money, or missed a bill, because of gambling?
- Do I gamble to escape stress, boredom or low mood?
- Have I hidden how much I play from people close to me?
- Do I feel restless or irritable when I try to cut down?
If you answered yes to any of these, talk to someone today. A call to the helpline is anonymous and nobody will judge you.
Under 18s
Gambling is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. It is a criminal offence for an operator to let a minor gamble, and every casino we list verifies age before allowing a deposit. If you are worried about a young person, GamCare’s youth support service can help.
